Sarah E. Stephen

     Sarah E. Stephen, 92, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.

     She was born at Calais, Ohio on May 19, 1933, a daughter of the late George and Anna Cleveland VanMeter.

     Sarah was a retired dietary aide at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     She enjoyed playing cards, watching sports on T.V. and playing board games.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George L. Stephen on July 31, 2004; a sister, Mary Anderson and a brother, William VanMeter.

     Surviving are one daughter, Sandra (David) McCormick of Salesville, Ohio; two sons, Terry (Caryla) Stephen of Woodsfield, Ohio, Todd Stephen and his fiancé, Candace Clemons of Fairfield, Ohio; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2025, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2025.

     Burial will follow in the Batesville Cemetery, Batesville, Ohio.
