Shirley Weddle Obituary

Shirley Ann “Sunny” Weddle, 80, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 3, 1944, a daughter of the late James and Wilda Hardin Johnson.

She was a former service coordinator for RLJ Management and formerly managed the Sunshine Apartments and Monroe Manor, Woodsfield, Ohio.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and also the VFW of Woodsfield, Ohio.

She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed fly fishing and most especially spending time outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David “Butch” Weddle; a son, Michael “Mikey” Pudget; two brothers, Edward and Phillip Gehlken; a sister, Rose West and her beloved companion Great Dane, “Baby”.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Jodee (Tim) Lude of Woodsfield, Ohio and Trish (Charles) Redmond of Sour Lake, Texas; a sister, Roberta Price of Woodsfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Renae (Perry) Anderson, Robert (Taylor) Radcliff, Regan (Josh) Sciarrilla, Jayme (Bill) Joy, Ryan (Jonathan) Redmond, Cody Radcliff, Austin (Cassidy) Lude and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025, where funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Keith Jones officiating.
