Thomas Sylvester Block, 22, of Union, Ohio (formerly of Pickerington, Ohio) passed away December 9, 2020 and was found deceased March 7, 2021 near Austin, Nevada.
He was born at Dayton, Ohio on September 30, 1998 a son of Joseph and Christi Cuzzort Block, who survive of Pickerington, Ohio.
He was a former security guard and was a Catholic by faith. Thomas struggled with mental health issues and getting the proper treatment that he needed. The family wants others to know that help is available for those suffering a mental illness by contacting The National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother, Jessie Block of Pickerington, Ohio; one sister, Kayla Block of Pickerington, Ohio; a paternal grandfather, Joseph Block of Woodsfield, Ohio; great-aunt, Sharon (Rex) Rettig of Dayton, Ohio; aunts, Maria (Shane) Mauger of Columbus, Ohio, Teresa (Dave) McMillan of Woodsfield, Ohio; cousins, Tana (Tony) Rodriguez, Juan Sotelo, Lance Cpl. Nadia Rettig, Anali Rodriguez, Llandel Rodriguez, Jodi Rettig, Erica Sims (Jade), Tyler Sims, Zach Sims, Olivia Merew, Samantha Merew, Avery Fortin, Wyatt and Wesley Mauger; step-grandmother, Nancy Cuzzort of Union, Ohio; step-aunt, Amber (Bill) Riley and step-cousin, Mitchell Riley all of Englewood, Ohio; great-grandmother, Maxine Keevert of Woodsfield, Ohio; numerous friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Randy Cuzzort, Billie Ann Hill and Deb Block.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 South Waggnor Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021.
Graveside services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 with Fr. David Gaydosik officiating.
