Tressa Lee Westfall

Tressa Lee Westfall, 92, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born near Reedy, West Virginia on June 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Alfred and Pearl Starcher Matics.

Tressa was a homemaker and loved tending to her farm, gardening, canning and preserving her harvest, loved tending to her flowers, growing dahlias, gathering firewood for her winter heat and doing anything outdoors. She was always be remembered for baking pies and desserts for others. She cherished her time of working at Westfall’s Florist selling garden plants in the spring, making cemetery blankets in the winter and delivering flowers and making friends all over the county.

Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various activities.

She was a Methodist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert R. Westfall on December 3, 2017; a sister, Rita Terrell; four brothers, Bob, Bill, Larry and Benney Matics.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Dean (Becky) Westfall of Beallsville, Ohio, Kevin (Janet) Westfall of Woodsfield, Ohio; three brothers, Don (Daisy) Matics of Reedy, West Virginia, Jimmy (Pauline) Matics of Hebron, Ohio, Kenneth Matics of Reedy, West Virginia; a special sister-in-law, Janet Matics of Reedy, West Virginia; a special niece, Lisa Matics Strawderman; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Roger) Summit, Caleb (Hannah) Westfall; two twin great-granddaughters, Lainey Lee Westfall, Lace Rene Westfall; one great-grandson on the way; a special caregiver who Tressa Loved as a granddaughter, Veronica Groves; her beloved cat, “Bootsie”.

Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 with Tim Fleeman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery, Antioch, Ohio.
