Tyler M. Christy, 40, of Westerville, Ohio (formerly of Woodsfield, Ohio) passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Medical Center, Westerville, Ohio.
He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on May 5, 1983 to Carla Burton Taylor of Pickerington, Ohio and the late Mitchell Christy.
Tyler was a graduate of Monroe Central High School, a U.S. Navy veteran and an employee of Honda East Liberty Plant. Tyler and his son attended the Vineyard Church in Westerville, Ohio.
Always the avid O.S.U. football fan, Tyler truly enjoyed going to games. He loved family gatherings, the beach, playing with his beloved dog, Tank, but most of all he loved spending time with the love of his life, his son Cayson.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Frances Christy, brother, Brock Taylor; and uncle, Scott Christy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Cayson of Westerville; step-father, Matt Taylor and brothers, Keaton and Kellen Taylor of Pickerington; brother Travis and sister Courtney; maternal grandparents, C. Duane and Patricia Burton of Woodsfield; grandmother, Ruthann Taylor of Baltimore,Ohio; friend and mother of Cayson, Nina Weakley, her daughter Sadie and her mother, Alida Kilpatrick; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Private graveside services for family only will be held at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
Tyler’s final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
