William G. "Bill" Calvert

     William G. “Bill” Calvert, 94, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at his home.

     He was born at Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 25, 1929, a son of the late George and Lillian Brubach Calvert.

     Bill was a retired postal worker at the Woodsfield Post Office, Woodsfield, Ohio; a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio where he was also a member of the St. Francis Society and the Purgatorial Society.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister and a sister, Shirley Seamon.            

     Surviving are eight nieces and nephews, Samuel L. Seamon of Benwood, West Virginia, Sharon L. (Ambrose) Bober of Wheeling, West Virginia, Tarey (Bernice) Bernhard of Racine, Wisconsin, Jody (Robert) Contraguerro of Wheeling, West Virginia, Don (Kathleen) Seamon of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Dennis (Doreen) Seamon of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Thomas (Beth) Seamon of Oakdale, Pennsylvania, Timothy (Lori) Seamon of McDonald, Pennsylvania; nineteen great nieces and nephews; twenty-nine great-great nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023, with vigil services at 4:00 p.m.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio with Fr. Timothy Davison as the Celebrant.

     Burial will follow in the St. Sylvester Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio with full military graveside services.

     The family would like to extend a special thanks to Bill’s neighbors and friends who have, with great compassion and diligence, looked after him for many years. You all were his guardian angels.

     Memorial may be made to St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 330 S. Main Street, Woodsfield, OH 43793.
