William C. "Bill" Montgomery

     William C. “Bill” Montgomery, 76, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Genesis Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio.

     He was born at West Union, West Virginia on October 19, 1944 a son of the late Ora Montgomery and Bertha Virginia Cottrill Montgomery.

     Bill was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 5303, Woodsfield, Ohio and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rella Dawson; four brothers, Robert, Jerry, Kenneth and Walter Montgomery.

     Surviving are his wife, Doris J. Moore Montgomery whom he married on July 3, 1966; two sons, William Monte (Kathy) Montgomery of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Richard Alan (Erin) Montgomery of Zanesville, Ohio; one sister, Mary Lou Dawson of Pennsboro, West Virginia; two brothers, John Montgomery of Pennsboro, West Virginia, Glen Montgomery of West Union, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Alex Montgomery, Zoey Montgomery and Emma Montgomery.

     A memorial visitation will be held at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 10,2021. Graveside services and military services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 11,2021 at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. David Cottrill  officiating.
