William "Bill" R. Sims

William R. “Bill” Sims, 86, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed way Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.

He was born at Woodsfield, Ohio on May 21, 1938 a son of the late Gerald and Kathryn Simmons Sims.

Bill was a retired employee of the former Conalco Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio and was a U.S. Army veteran. Bill enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and Football many years ago. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Sims and John Wiley.

Surviving are his wife, Charlene E. Block Sims whom he married on September 30, 1963; one daughter, Danielle (Larry) Takacs of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; one son, Brian (Jennifer) Sims of Parkersburg, West Virginia; two brothers, Robert Sims of Woodsfield, Ohio and Philip (Becky) Sims of Woodsfield, Ohio; one sister, Cathy Stalnaker of Lost Creek, West Virginia; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. A private Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
