Frederick Perry Cline, age 72, of Somerset passed from this life on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, Kentucky

He was born on September 6, 1945, in New Matamoras, Ohio, son of the late Burnse and Carrie West Cline.  Frederick was a Retired Supervisor with Dominion East Ohio Gas Company after several years of dedicated service. Frederick was a Honorable Veteran of the Vietnam War. Having served his country in the United States Marine Corp, Frederick also received an Associate’s degree in Business Administration and took pride in whatever he endeavored to do in life.  He was a past President of the MRDD Board in Woodsfield, Ohio and an outstanding member of the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center for many years. He was also a member of the “Chain Gang” for the Woodsfield Redskins and the Monroe Central Seminoles Football teams, as well as many other civil services. He was a car enthusiastic and was intrigued by various automobiles. Perhaps, above all, he never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. Frederick was a compassionate family man that gave of himself selflessly.  He was affectionately known as “Teddy Bear” and “Biggin”. Fredrick will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife; Nancy Cline, his son; David (Trudy) Cline of Woodsfield, Ohio, his daughter; Carrie Cline and her Fiance’ Bob Marlow of Hebron, Ohio, grandchildren; Hunter Cline, along with Wyatt, Morgan, Grace, Anha, Dylan, Derek, Maddie Lanie, Emmie, and  Will, and a sister; Patti Cline and step-children; Tamara (John) Lynch, Jason Fliehman and his friend; Terri Martinez and Tara (Thomas) Baxley, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Kentucky Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Shaun Baines officiating. Local Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38.

Carol and Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Fred always had a smile or hug for everyone. I don't think he ever met a stranger. I will never forget the year Fred won the game ball Daniel's senior year. He had the team and coaches sign it and gave it to Daniel. Fred was so kind and helpful to everyone. He will be missed.
